A variety of engine options
The 2023 Hyundai Tucson and 2023 Ford Escape offer an exciting array of engine options. The Escape comes standard with a 1.5L EcoBoost engine that produces up to 180 horsepower and 199 lb-ft of torque for a powerful and responsive driving experience. The Tucson, on the other hand, offers a 2.5-litre engine that produces 187 horsepower but only 178 lb-ft of torque, for a smoother ride.
However, both models have a variety of engine options, including hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. In both cases, the plug-in hybrid version has the most combined power, 261 horsepower in Hyundai and 210 horsepower in Ford. Although it has a lower horsepower rating, the Escape is still the choice with the most torque. It also boasts the lowest fuel consumption, 5.9L/100km, compared to 6.7L/100km for the PHEV versions.
Reliable and innovative?
When it comes to technology and comfort, both SUVs come standard with a wide selection of standard features, such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Optional for music lovers is a choice of famously named luxury audio systems, Bose for the Tucson 2023 and Bang&Olufsen for the Escape. If you choose the maximum screen size, however, the Escape wins by far with its 13.2-inch SYNC 4.
In terms of safety, you can drive with peace of mind knowing that you'll be well served by both SUVs. The Hyundai SmartSense and Ford Co-Pilot360 driver assistance technology packages offer similar options, although we particularly like the Escape's exclusive connected navigation.
All in all, while the Tucson may have some technical advantages, the Escape's comfort features make it a standout in its class. To confirm your choice, nothing better than to see it in person at Terrebonne Ford!
