Powertrain

Beneath the floor, the 2026 E-Transit features an 89-kWh lithium-ion battery powering a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor mounted on the rear axle. This setup delivers 266 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of instant torque, providing strong acceleration even when fully loaded. Estimated driving range reaches up to 255 km for low-roof models, 238 km for medium-roof versions, and 230 km for high-roof configurations. New for 2026 is the standard inclusion of a vapour-injection heat pump, a technology borrowed from the F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E, which improves cabin heating efficiency in cold weather while helping preserve battery range. DC fast charging from 10% to 80% can be completed in approximately 50 minutes using a suitable charging station. Chassis cab and cutaway models now benefit from a new 156-inch extended wheelbase to support specialized upfits. Depending on configuration, maximum payload capacity ranges from 3,320 lb for cargo van models up to 4,063 lb.

Technology

Inside, the 2026 E-Transit takes a significant step forward in digital functionality. A new standard 8-inch digital instrument cluster provides real-time energy efficiency and battery management information. At the centre of the dashboard, a large 12-inch touchscreen features the SYNC 4 infotainment system with voice recognition, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Fleet managers benefit from the integrated Ford Pro E-Telematics software suite, which allows real-time monitoring of energy consumption and vehicle location. Safety also advances with broader availability of the Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0 driver-assistance package, including Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Centering Assist, and an available 360-degree camera system.

Capability

The 2026 E-Transit stands out for its versatility thanks to the available Pro Power Onboard system, which transforms the vehicle into a mobile power source. Delivering up to 2.4 kW through outlets located in both the cabin and cargo area, the system can power construction tools, computers, and refrigeration equipment without the need for a gasoline generator. To simplify demanding delivery routes, Ford also introduces the available Delivery Assist system. When the gear selector is placed in Park, the vehicle automatically activates the hazard lights, closes any open windows, and locks the doors once the driver walks away.

Design

The exterior design of the 2026 E-Transit retains its familiar, aerodynamic commercial-van profile while adding subtle visual enhancements, including new LED taillamps with integrated BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) sensors on equipped models. Commercial fleet customers can also choose from new exterior colours, including Wild Green. Inside, the cabin prioritizes durability and workplace comfort, offering a choice of hard-wearing, easy-to-clean surfaces or available 10-way power-adjustable heated seats upholstered in Dark Palazzo Grey cloth. Standard equipment includes 5G connectivity capable of supporting a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to 10 devices, multiple USB-C ports, and numerous storage solutions designed for mobile professionals.
