Financial assistance for an electric vehicle
Quebec is one of the provinces with the highest levels of financial assistance for the purchase of an electric car. Normally, Quebec residents can benefit from a grant of up to $12,000 for the purchase of an electric car. They can also benefit from a financial assistance for the purchase and installation of a home charging station.
It can be hard to find your way around, since the criteria vary according to the price of the car, its category (in the case of federal assistance), and its type. Used cars are also eligible under certain conditions, as are leased cars. Here's a summary of the financial assistance available.

How do I claim financial assistance?
For the Roulez vert Program and the federal iZEV Program, we take care of sending the request on your behalf. You can apply for the Roulez vert Program yourself using the online service. All you need is the purchase or lease contract, the vehicle description and the SAAQ "Service Received" document. You can also apply by mail.
You can also apply online for financial assistance for a charging station. In addition to the purchase or lease contracts and SAAQ documents, you'll need to have details of the charging station itself and the supplier, as well as proof of installation by a qualified electrician if an outlet is to be installed. If the socket already exists, photos of the installation are permitted.
